The lies Satan tells you
“You’re alone.”
“You’re ugly.”
“You’re disposable.”
“You’re not worthy.”
“Nobody cares what you think.”
“You’re stupid.”
“You’re not good enough.”
“You will never be good enough.”
“You’re less worthy if you struggle.”
“Nobody wants you if you have emotions.”
“Nobody wants you if you have baggage.”
“You’re damaged goods.”
“No one wants you with a past like yours.”
“Your poor life choices are because you’re just a terrible person.”
“Nobody will like you if you don’t keep your shame a secret.”
“Everyone will judge you if you don’t hide your struggles.”
These are the lies Satan whispers in your ear our whole life. Through childhood and adulthood. These lies instilled in our minds are the same lies that we as women tell TO each other and ABOUT each other. Even more importantly, we believe these lies ABOUT each other. When we see a sister struggling, our nature shouldn’t be to avoid her or talk down upon her because she is going through something. WE ALL GO THROUGH HARD THINGS.
Women get so threatened because of the lies they’ve been fed all their life from the enemy, that when they believe it in their core about not only themselves but every woman!! Satan puts deeply rooted belief in us that we must be selfish and destroy anyone who is a threat to us, our success, our social standing, or our feelings.
When women gossip about others, does it usually fit the template of the lies from Satan that you yourself have been fed all this time?
“She’s messy”
“She’s stuck up”
“She thinks she’s better than everyone else”
“She’s overweight, nobody wants that”
“She’s too skinny, nobody wants that”
“She’s got a past”
“She throws herself at anyone who shows interest”
“Her standards are too low”
“Her standards are too high”
“She’s rude”
“She’s too friendly”
“Her positivity is annoying”
“She’s so negative and hateful”
“She’s not as pretty as she thinks she is”
“She only hangs out with males because women can’t stand her”
“She’s crazy”
“She uses her trauma as an excuse for poor life choices”
“She does too much”
“She doesn’t belong here”
“She’s a bum”
Satan uses these weapons to keep us DIVIDED and AGAINST EACH OTHER.
SATAN wants us to be divided so that we feel alone because he can control us better that way.. GOD wants us to live in harmony together. How are we to do that? James 5:16 “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
When we support and uplift each other in all of our vulnerability, we end the deeply rooted tradition of shunning or shaming each other. We let each other know they are not alone! We can love, listen, understand, and pray for our sisters in their times of need. And God will do the rest. That’s all he wants, is for us to be honest with ourselves about our struggles, lean on each other for support, and ask God for his help.
Satan infiltrates every part of our minds and thoughts, and disguises himself so well that you actually believe the thoughts are yours…when in reality the lies are attacks.
The next time you have an intrusive thought to talk down upon a fellow sister, ask yourself “whose thoughts am I really having??” Whether it’s out loud, or in your head. Question the thoughts. Because I can assure you, those negative thoughts about another human are not from God.
